Washtenaw Great Start Parent Coalition
Join us and become a voice for your child and the children in our community
The Parent Coalition is made up of parents with children ages 12 and under who live in Washtenaw County. Our purpose is to increase parent participation in early childhood planning and decision making in our county.
The parent coalition is working coordination with Success by 6 to support young children and families in five areas:
- Physical Health
- Social-Emotional Health
- Parent Education and Support
- Early Childhood Education and Care
- Basic Needs, Economic Security and Child Safety
Members of the Washtenaw Great Start Parent Coalition:
- Are part of a supportive network of parents
- Work with other community leaders to develop a system of services to meet the needs of infant, young children and their parents
- Receive free training on how to talk to public officials and others about important issues facing young children and their families in our community
- Attend bi-monthly meetings
- Know that their voices matter when it comes to supporting our county’s youngest citizens
- Receive free child care during meetings
